they have proven themselves to be time and again an unsafe place for artist and a safe space for ai dick-riders.

so be it, live in the bliss of ignorance while it lasts. however, you will be doing it without me.

Seeing how the world works and seeing how flawed it is truly makes every day uneasy.

Guys, don’t you know? Trillion dollar companies are people too and it’s actually very rude for you to call them evil or immoral. SMH my head /s

Some guy I’ve been dealing with was literally like “I miss when ai was called machine learning and it was uncontroversial”

🤨like yeah bro it was uncontroversial because it wasn’t being trained on stolen data, being put into everything, and taking people’s jobs. Like tf you mean??

insert Linus Torvalds saying “Nvidia, fuck you”
Chat, please help, I’m a grown ass adult that doesn’t know how to cook anything 🦝

I’ve been reading Hackers by Steven Levy. I am about half way through. This is the longest book I’ve ever read and it feels like it lol. It truly feels like an adventure in a way.

The book chronicles the history of computers through the lenses of the little known “hackers” who shaped the culture surrounding computers. Starting in the 50s and 60s in MIT, through 70s with the first “microcomputers” and the creation of Apple, to the mid-80s with the first IBM personal computers and the start of Sierra entertainment.

I would highly recommend it to anyone interested in learning the history of computers. The only bad thing I can really say about it is that it was written in the 80s and it shows in the way the writer speaks about certain things.

I will have more to say once I’m finished with the book but I couldn’t contain myself until then, I needed to say something about it.
