@Godfrey642 Sadly, until colonisation, quokka populations were widespread and abundant across the South West of Western Australia.
Predatory feral predators, clear felling, agricultural development and housing expansion has greatly reduced the mainland habitat and population. Which is now considered as vulnerable.
Unfortunately the widely held belief is that they are native to only Rottnest Island.
The cute selfies do not convey the truth that this species is struggling to exist.
