He overplayed, but not by more than just what was need to get control of twitter and looked like a fool and now is wrecking havoc with everything that kept Twitter more or less like a place that trolls could not completely overrun, under the guise of cutting costs and making people pay certification.
Which makes no sense compared with the money in advertising.
This is not about money.
