AND SO

This is my first time GMing and what I learned is:
- I make silly sounds
- I make silly voices (not always, but it does come easy)
- When I voice an NPC, my players want to adopt it. When my husband does, they want to kill it. No middle ground.

Also I realise I cannot have told you this here: I handed in my thesis on 31 January and my viva seems to have to happen (I don't wanna) around the 13 May.

And Taliesin is 7 months old and loves to drink water.

That was a brief summary, so that I'm able later on to share what is happening without feeling like I have to explain everything.

Next week, they are going to try and fight for a new "stronghold" (really a camping place), and to take it specifically from the adorably weird fiends with the bodies of monkeys and heads of goats: the kalkes.

Morana died this week when facing them and the gigantic statue they seem to adore, but don't worry: she's fine. She's a necromancer, after all.

Vyrrdian is the troll's goddess : and possibly the entity behind the presence of zombifying fungi in the city.

The gift of Vyrrdian? Becoming one of her legion. Of course, the players are invited to become mushrooms themselves down the line.

They do not seem too keen on that possibility, for some reason.

The goblin captain, Blort Thorn-head, is their ally... even though they would rather see him dead (if he could die). He's not the politest of people; he'd very much like to eat the gnomes; and he's asked them to kill his king for him.

Their favourite troll is Kukka, a healer who moved in with them, and also happens to be an arcanic tattoo artist.

They also met the shaman Domagoj, who just asked him during their last session to give the gift of Vyrrdian the Green Mother to the above two.

They entered the city thinking this would be a fast job: since then, they have discovered it fell to the Green Horde, an army of goblins and trolls, five centuries prior to their arrival.

They even met said goblins and trolls, who are still around and seem quite unable to die.

Lastly, slightly more on their own, the dragonborn monk Klachlafas, his people having emerged from the seas not twenty years ago, their intentions still mysterious ; Viggo the half-dwarf monk, efficient but keeping to himself ; and Adin the aasimar bard, on the search for their space chicken with a blade ancestor (... yes).

They are accompanied by the (half not) dynamic duo formed by Max the human barbarian and the old human druid Lofnar, who uses Max as a mount because his old legs are not what they used to be.

With them, and including Relam, the Arcanic University of Armiran students: the gambling gnome Shamil, the soft-spoken and shy half-elf Aldryn, and the musical therapist André Verweildochdubistsoschön (I make a point of always writing his name in full)

There are ships blossoming in the dark, some very cute, like the half-elf ranger Valán and the human warrior Amanika. Some... less conventional? And not reciprocated -- the human necromancer Morana having stolen the hearts of goblin rogue Zajoryk and aasimar druid Relam, though the latter seemed to have something going on with the human paladin Ellewyn.

He gave them six weeks -- around forty days -- to find his genealogy. He hired guides to lead them to the city (not inside); he gave them rations, and their equipment, everything they could need.

So far, they have been ten days beneath the surface, and are no closer to their goal. Some of them seem to have forgotten what it was, others are starting to panic.

We're having a lot of fun.
