Yesterday someone discovered two rather large caterpillars in the garden. They seem to keep track of their surroundings very well but the eyes are fake ones.
After some searching I think they are deilephila elpenor or the elephant hawk moth.

The Marsh pond has been cleaned a bit (only removed some branches and the like from it). Some pots with plants we set level and we filled it up again.
This is the last garden Mien Ruys designed in her show garden around 1995. Everything is build from recycled plastic. Environment was already an item for her at that time.
At the time she was around 90 years old.

The first of April the garden will be open for the public. Today been busy cleaning some of the ponds. #mienruys #garden

Yesterday and this morning we filled our newly build flower box. We tried to make a water reservoir at the bottom, but actually we don't really know if this will work. Over the stone we put a carrot cloth with some cotton fiber strings through it down to the water reservoir (actually some candle wicks) and hope the water will find its way up to the soil. (We read some stuff about capillary action...)
But we will see which plants will survive the hottest time of the year...
