Remember the School Captain? Success was a matter of time,
I can hear her now, as she screams, "Greg! You missed the stop sign!"

One of the most important books on guitar (and learning music, period!). RIP Mick Goodrick 🙏🏼🎸https://www.instagram.com/p/ClEcfuouL2f/?igshid=YmMyMTA2M2Y=
Alex Skolnick on Instagram: "RIP Mick Goodrick - True sensei of guitar. I never met Mick but feel like I knew him through this guitar method book, the one I most often recommend (still have my old copy! Pictured). “The Advancing Guitarist” is packed with pearls of wisdom. It’s also full of excellent notated musical examples and exercises. Yet, even if you skip those entirely, there are immense gains to be made just from Mick’s thoughts on the music process, which are worth their weight in gold (or gold plated hardware). For example, swipe to see how much more mileage we can all get from just one string! Or so many other philosophical anecdotes, including a personal favorite: “The most difficult thing about finding your own path is YOU’RE ALREADY ON IT (whether you like it or not!). More than likely (whether you know it or not) YOU’VE NEVER left it. That’s why FINDING it is so difficult.” There are some great clips online from the early/mid 70s, Mick killing it with the Gary Burton Band. Next to Mick is a much younger guitarist (late teens or early 20s) who is hanging in there but seems just a bit out of his depth next to the seasoned pros. However, that would radically change a short time later. This youngster, Pat Metheny, and Mick would remain close friends throughout Metheny’s rise to household name status. The two would perform duets, whenever schedules allowed for decades to come. Although Mick’s name is better known to insiders of guitar and thus less household, it nonetheless looms as large as any palace. Farewell #MickGoodrick #ripmickgoodrick"

I know it's soooo bad what Elon did to Twitter, really.

But I've been running this server for over 3 years now to flee Twitter and somehow it feels things are falling into place...

I have met such amazing and wonderful people here on the Fediverse that I consider my true friends no matter where they live❤️

The only thing I want is for you to have the same and here you have a chance do that just that!

I’m used to existing in the mirror universe, so having an account there and an account here is no biggie. #TwitterRefugees
