@popey I have been using IPv6 for several years now. I say "using" because I have both IPv4 and IPv6 with IPv6 generally the preference (if AAAA resolves, it gets used).
I've not checked the stats recently, but when I did a few years ago, around 25% of my traffic was IPv6.
@SolusSpider @sanjaromin KDE Neon is my daily driver too.
I'm still confused why they show video adverts for apprenticeship programs at Wessex Water (a regional British utility company) on the KLIA Ekspres train in Kuala Lumpur.

@wavesblog because Microsoft is collecting personal data from minors when they use these products.

Microsoft are then storing this data in the US where it can be examined by US authorities.

This is against the GDPR.

It seems to me that an interesting evolution of mastodon would be to incorporate aliases more closely, so that the toot appears to come from the alias.

Of course there are some abuse vectors here, but it may be possible to mitigate these by combining aliases with verification in some way?

So, it appears that, as Mastodon uses Webfinger, it is possible to create a top-level alias that resolves to your actual instance-specific ID.

I wonder how integrated this is with Mastodon. Could I, for instance, tell my current server that I'm changing to a new server and give it the alias instead of the new address?

Of course, in all toots, it will be the local server address that shows up, so organic follows will be to that address.

@SolusSpider @idreamtin8bits wowzers. I remember the Atmos. I never got a chance to try one. It was one of the few computers of that era I didn't try.
@whalecoiner or they've given up the pretence there's any point in it.
@SolusSpider thanks. Knee is mostly better now, thanks to strapping it and gentle exercise. Cold is gradually going.
