25 years go or so, I discovered a candle scent called Rainshower. It was a little votive made by Glade and sold in grocery stores. It became my go-to candle when I needed to be creative or inspired. And then Glade stopped making it!

I keep looking for another candle that has a similar scent, but I've never found one. If anyone out there has been on this same journey and succeeded in replacing good ol' Rainshower, I would sure be grateful for the lead. #rainshower #candle #mystery #help

Whenever someone tells you they like a particular thing, you should respond by saying "I bet you do."

They will appreciate that you trust the honesty of their claim enough to risk money on it. You should say it quietly, though, just in case they are startled by loud sounds. #HelpfulTips

Almost two months to the day after I started waking up early to write, this morning I passed 45K words in my first draft. Still a long way to go, but it's so motivating to see that amount of progress. #AmWriting #Writing
@grahamefleming I'm definitely looking forward to that.

My experiment in waking up early to write continues to go well. I have risen before dawn on 24 of the last 25 mornings, and the day I missed was due to illness.

But I'm definitely concerned about how I'll adapt to Daylight Saving Time when it starts next weekend. 😬

I finished the first part of of my WIP, which is also the point where my detailed outline becomes high-level. So before I start writing the next part, I'm fleshing out the outline.

I just finished plotting one scene in particular and realized I was actually smiling at it. 😀

For my WIP, I am forcing myself not to do that. It's very freeing to fill pages with passive voice and anachronisms and cliches. The advice finally makes sense to me. (3/3)
It isn't that I previously thought my first draft would be good. I've always accepted that I would have to revise. But that didn't stop me from trying to make it as good as possible on the first pass. So I have often labored over words and grammar during the initial draft. (2/x)
Last week, I started waking up early to write, and that's been a productive change. This week, I've been taking this common advice to heart: Accept that your first draft will be bad. (1/x) #AmWriting
Anyway, you can't really form a habit in four days, but it's going well. (8/8)
