I’m happy with where I entered the radio spectrum use timeline. When I was a kid my dad would tinker at his workbench and listen to the shortwave radio - especially maritime comms and international. He talked with truckers on the CB radio in his car. On nights he was off the job, and for many years after he retired, he fell asleep every night listening to his FDNY scanner. I appreciate, now, all that static and friction.
