Taking someones meaning as being the colloquial thing and not what they literally say. is the specific social conditioning schools give to people to make them neurotypical. It is also a direct line of psychological exploit that can convince someone to do something completely unrelated in order to get the thing that they want thru implications. (Like suggesting to target illegal immigrants in hopes that'll increase wages when the government is currently in control of wage increases every year.)
