Git is the new code

AI is writing more code than ever before (if not all of it). But our most important job as developers hasn’t gone away—it’s simply changed. We spend less time typing code and more time reading, reviewing, and making sure everything works as it should. Here are some quick guidelines and git commands to help you

Microsoft Effort to Ban 'Microslop' on Copilot Discord Didn't Go As Planned

After people just used workarounds like typing out 'm1cr0sl0p,' admins seemingly dropped the ban. But that only accelerated the posting.

First impressions on #Kiro (as a front-end developer):

- It does a decent job at refactoring code, tracing component dependencies, writing docs, and creating test data.

- Translating Figma designs into React components is hit-or-miss - more miss than hit in my experience. Perhaps there are certain ways of composing mockups that would yield better results.

- Spec-driven development (a fancier form of vibe coding, I guess?) looks quite promising, but I'll have to play with it some more.

- Would be nice to be able to start an FCP project on my Mac and pick up on my iPad or vice versa, but it looks like that's not possible.

- This still doesn't make the iPad any more useful for creative work, for me at least.

First impressions:

- Say what you will about software subscriptions but ₱399/mo for FCP, Logic Pro, etc. is cheap. Adobe CC costs nearly 10 times as much for the Standard (no AI) plan.

- Magnetic Mask in Motion finally!

- Looks like I'll need to upgrade to Tahoe again for Pixelmator.

I've fancied gifting myself a drone for a while now, but it looks like I'd have nowhere to fly it because it seems all the parks and open spaces nearby have gone full bossman mode on them for "privacy and security" reasons. So, nope.
