Old carpet vs new vinyl. Hopefully that will help with reducing the static buildup. #hamradio #homelab
Looking good. Sockets, isolator and mains filter all in.
Lasers! Makes these jobs super easy.
Time to sort out this mess... #WorkshopBuild
Workbench day 2. Starting off this morning by building some storage then filling it with the random junk that's scattered over the floor.
End of day 1. Lots more to fit in but it's a good start. I may reconfigure the power on the right so I can add a bit more pegboard.
On the other side (left) of the monitor, I think I'll have the Rigol stack but I'll probably build a small shelving unit for them as they don't stack well.
First test kit in and powered up. I'll be adding a GPSDO powered external ref when I get round to it but for now, this works.

We have power!

I should stress that this is a temporary arrangement to get clean power to the bench. I'll be asking my tame sparky to reroute the 32A armoured feed into a new sub board for me in the near future so I can power the entire workshop from a single feed.

First job for the day is sorting out a clean power feed. I like to run my workshop from its own supply and not depend on the standard house wiring.

I take power from a 32A CEE socket that has a direct feed from the utility meter. It was originally installed for an outdoor hot tub that my parents removed 10 years ago. Now it's conveniently located right next to my workshop.

I run the power through a GM3SEK mains filter rated for 25A, an isolation switch and a small sub board with breakers.
