Old video games, pixel art appreciator, ADHD and chronic illness stuff sometimes. Any pronouns. I probably followed you here from Twitter.

This isn't really a politics account, however if you're not OK with any of *gestures wildly at all the performativisms in bio* THAT, maybe don't follow me cuz I'll make ya mad. Also crypt* sucks, go away if you're into that shit. Otherwise, welcome!

Kudos to you if you can identify the art in my banner. Here's a hint: it's not the giant bug game.

It's frustrating, and disheartening. And probably why I prefer conversation over text.
Maybe I do the same thing to other people without realizing it. I don't *think* I do, certainly not on purpose, but it's quite possible. Maybe they're all just responding in kind.
It feels like it happens a lot. Idk. Maybe it's just that I'm going on about something for too long. Maybe I only noticed it because I'd made myself or my life a part of the topic, and therefore subconsciously got myself emotionally invested. My memory sucks too much to recall if similar changes in subject occur when that's not the case.
It wouldn't even bother me that much if I *hadn't* started talking about something to do with myself. But since I did, and the conversation wasn't abandoned before that, it's very difficult to fight the mental gremlin telling me that I'm uninteresting, and having Uninteresting Me inserted into the discussion ruined it for everyone. So badly, in fact, that it caused them to simply walk away, or switch the subject in the middle of my sentence.
I feel like I need to learn to recognize when I'm going to start talking about myself or something important to me, and stop to consider whether anyone wants to hear about it. It's so painful to be having an interesting conversation about, say, a video game, but as soon as I start talking about how xyz game affected me as a kid, to then have the other person literally walk away while I'm talking or abruptly change the subject.

When your business model relies on theft and you don't like proposed regulations that would expose that theft ... that's a pretty good sign the regulations are on the right track.

OpenAI says it could ā€˜cease operating’ in the EU if it can’t comply with future regulation

OpenAI CEO Sam Altman has warned that the company could pull its services from the EU if it finds upcoming regulations too onerous. The EU AI Act is currently being finalized by lawmakers and should become law next year.

"Today, a heavily armed Atlanta Police Department SWAT team raided a house in Atlanta and arrested three of its residents. Their crime? Organizing legal support and bail funds for protesters and activists who have faced indiscriminate arrest and overreaching charges in the struggle to stop the construction of a vast police training facility — dubbed Cop City — atop a forest in Atlanta.

The arrests are an unprecedented attack on bail funds and legal support organizations, a long-standing facet of social justice movements, according to Lauren Regan, executive director of the Civil Liberties Defense Center.

ā€œThis is the first bail fund to be attacked in this way,ā€ Regan, whose organization has worked to ensure legal support for people resisting Cop City, told me. ā€œAnd there is absolutely not a scintilla of fact or evidence that anything illegal has ever transpired with regard to Atlanta fundraising for bail support.ā€
