Amateur photographer. Loves space!
Lunar eclipse at totality around 3 am Friday night. Had some issues with keeping the secondary mirror collimated but I think the image came out pretty well!

Camera: Canon 80D
Exposure: 2s
ISO: 400
Telescope: Astro-Tech 6" f/4 Newtonian
Mount: Celestron AVX

I went to Fort Worth, TX to see the eclipse on Monday! The forecast steadily improved throughout last week but I prepared myself for some cloud cover. Luckily, there was a break in the clouds during totality. Venus and Jupiter were clearly visible (see the bright star-like objects in the second picture) but I was unable to find Mars and Saturn.

I didn't bring any camera equipment and just used a phone camera to capture a few pics. I saw the last one to cross the United States in 2017 as well so I am 2/2 so far!

Going through some of the images in my back log! This is a star trail made during the 2018 Perseid Meteor Shower. It's about 3 hours of total data.

Comparison of the moon at apogee (left) vs perigee (right) about a half a year apart. The image at perigee was taken during a lunar eclipse on January of 2019 and the one from apogee on July of 2018. The visual difference is a result of the Moon's eccentric orbit which causes its distance from Earth to vary by about 50,000 km over a complete orbit.
