It looks horrible, but the traces appear to be good. Horrible leaky old batteries removed and new ones ordered - it might yet live!
Who can guess what it is though?
OK, bear with me on this one - it's a Friday Afternoon thought.
Why not write a NUT simulator for the classic HP Voyager calculators on MicroBeast? I'd be happy to produce an alternative keycap set and then it'd be possible to use it as a full scientific calculator..
ALSO this week on the blog: I'm not super happy with my current "Platform Guides" page and I've been working on distilling the instructions for getting off the ground on various platforms I've worked on into a single one-stop shop. The first page went live to day, and it's for the #TRS80ColorComputer as long as I'm working with it actively.

VideoBeast emulation in BeastEm is making good progress.
If it was a head twist designing a quite parallel, timing sensitive hardware implementation, it's even more confusing turning it back into a reasonably accurate software emulation.
Looking about right so far!
Today a friend and I went to the swap meet and I bought a bunch of random VHS tapes, including one that was an amateur video from the 1989 Renaissance faire here in LA.
It was just a couple of young doofuses walking around the fair, interviewing people and being awkward and horny.
BUT they interviewed one girl with whom they exchanged numbers. Using those names and numbers, my friend and I spent the afternoon tracking these people down and finding social media accounts and phone numbers for them. We messaged and called them. I hope we hear back.
A hype-free assessment of where we're at with self driving vehicles.
