I just blocked Palmer Report. That dude is a jerk IMHO. He’s not even a real news site. I remember when he tried to take over Pantsuit Nation on FB and called all of us women bots because he couldn’t get his way. He’s a misogynist.

DSS is quick to remove a child but so slow to arrange access between a child and parent.

Today in court I asked for therapeutic visitation. I said we need to reduce conflict in the presence of my (child) client. But if the parent needs corrective guidance, it should be done with dignity and outside the presence of the child. If we ignore the dignity of the parent and undercut his authority with his child, how do we expect successful reunification and amelioration of the problems? We don’t need to embarrass and hurt parents who need help getting it right.

One thing is clear. #Buffalo does not like #earthquakes. Personally I prefer a blizzard.

Off to the psychiatrist for the 3rd time for Child 1. Hopefully we do more than talk.

I was assigned a 1L mentee at my law school. She’s a bust. I am actually a good mentor bc I was a teacher. I mentor baby attorneys at work. All the time. I am the go to gal and safe space for “How do I” Qs. Even with experienced lawyers. I asked my mentee to give me her schedule and give thoughts on her expectations. 2 weeks to get the schedule. It’s been a month- no expectations. She doesn’t follow through. So my first piece of advice. Acknowledge and follow up.

Bought child favorite Girl Scout cookies. Child told me hated those and I should have consulted with her before making a purchase. Basically told me that I was evil for buying them cookies. Child is sneaking the rejected cookies into her room to eat. This is how some #mentalhealth problems show themselves.
