A ★★★★ review of Gran Turismo (2023)

A classic case of not judging a film by its bad trailer. In fact, when the Columbia Pictures lady appeared at the start of the film, I was wishing Ghostbusters 1984 was gonna start. I was engrossed throughout Gran Turismo's entire runtime. David Harbour kept it beautifully grounded, and Blomkamp's direction is brilliant, especially during the adrenalin fuelled race sequences. A mention to Djimon Hounsou, who was brilliant, and it was good to see him in a more dramatic role. He should do those more often. Also, it took me 3 scenes to realise Jann's mum was Geri Halliwell Horner.
