War can expand and contract not only in the intensity of conflict but also in what is fought about. Often it's linked fonterrirory, but in a deeper sense, it's linked to the (stated) reasons, that fuels war. Denazification, homeland defense, natural resources, or family.
War continues to try to link up with disparate events, coding everything it observes in its code of friend or foe.
