How do you get people to sign up for paid stuff on your site? You write a so called simplified version of the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG), which at best is so simplistic it misses out crucial information, to worst being completely wrong. And say it’s FREE. #wcag #accessibility

We've add a few more checks and fixed bugs and false/positive reporting identified by users. A11y Quick Check can quickly identify high level accessibility issues on your web page, works on localhost and in the Shadow DOM.

@aardrian I tried Substack as I'm not familiar with any of the blogging platforms I need to experiment with them. If I can garner enough interest I may set up cheap hosting and set up Worpress. Thanks for the tips.

One day I may become a talented prolific writer of articles like you 🙂

Laurence’s Substack
@aardrian I used to develop using Wordpress, but not for many years and before Gutenberg.
@aardrian Thanks for letting me know. Do you have any recommendations where I can post that is more accessible. I don’t have a personal website.
The first rule of ARIA is broken!

An opinion by Laurence Lewis I've frequently come across the saying, "The first rule of ARIA is don't use ARIA", and I've always considered it a bit of a throwaway line. Accessible Rich Internet Applications (ARIA) play a critical role in bridging the gap between HTML, web browsers, and screen reade

@yatil With Level Access’ acquisition of UserWay, and Mike Paciello moving to AudioEye, both with considerable reputations in the accessibility industry, I am trying to be open minded to a better approach than is historically true for overlay companies. However, I completely understand your scepticism.
@aardrian Perfect many thanks.

Does anyone know what is behind the decision to make the html <dialog> focusable, and what the intent is for ficus management, i.e. setting initial focus to the <dialog>. Considering this was bad practice for the ARIA Role dialog
