Have you fixed anything when it’s done something you’ve hated? I sometimes think, “I can fix this” and the I let my workarounds last for years. Like a leaky faucet where I fix it by rotating the handle not to 180° but to like 185.

How has GitHub been enshittified? It’s a genuine question, because I’ve thought Microsoft has been a pretty good steward of it until now.

When I started dating my girlfriend I thought I was right all the time. Eventually, she pointed out that I’m only right about half the time, no big deal. After years of marriage, I can see that I’ve never been right.

If I could use a technology to be right 50% of the time that would be amazing. Hahaha. Kind of kidding.

My goal this year is to “move faster” and oh man, it’s a different kind of pain, doing intervals. They’re certainly more fun, but the recovery it demands is 2x my normal easy-to-moderate runs.

Seeing a moose in real life was an otherworldly experience. It’s HUGE and terrifying.

It can be a treacherous hike in bad weather! You can arrange for bus pickup because it’s a through hike, but if the weather is so bad, they’ll email you and tell you the bus is canceled. Absolutely worth hiking if you’re ever in NZ!

Those are good questions! I’ve never thought of that. I’d just pick up anything like a damn caveman.

I just patched some drywall. The paper was tearing and stuff. Now I’ve gotta sand, primer, and paint the room. Then, replace a seal for a toilet and hopefully that Just Works™️ then I can reinstall the floor I had to rip up. Then replace the trim 😵‍💫 this is too much

My favorite cocktail is an old fashioned. Depending on the bar, bourbon won’t be the biggest differentiator. Some places hurt my soul and use too much simple syrup and make it too sweet. Others put a bunch of small ice cubes which quickly melt and that’s not great either. Woodford is solid and widely available. I can’t remember the last time I haven’t had that stocked at home 😊
