Found the magnet: link
Fair warning, this crashes the Jerboa client when clicked directly. I was able to copy it over to qBit, there’s a few video files, but I haven’t had time to watch through them yet.
One side is the conspiracy nuts, the ones that don’t really believe anything specific, just some vague idea of an “illuminate” type that influences the world using money. Usually none of the ideas are actually “wrong” on their own and in a vacuum, but the way they’re mixed together is always batshit, and you can’t really talk or reason to these people, and they can never really explain who is in control.
Then the other side, also believes that money isn’t real, but in the way that debt on a macro scale just… doesn’t matter. The only reason it does is because of powerful people with massive egos, who carry a pecking order of like-minded people who think they’ll be next in line to live like kings. That all the countries could just look at their balance sheets, and just say “fuck it, don’t worry about the debt.” Basic needs like housing, energy, oil, none of it really matters, and at any time we can drop the whole charade about debt and just… be good neighbors, and we could all get on with our lives, and never worry about owing debts.
Of course the second point will never happen without exploring new systems of government, but is theoretically possible.
That’s my fear too. I was under high stress from work, woke up from deep sleep one night with chest pain. Really felt like a heart attack, and the only thing I could think was “Thank fuck it’s finally over,” then the most peaceful calm I’ve ever experienced washed over me, and I fell back to sleep.
Now I have recurring anxiety when I think of death, because what if the Buddhists got it right? What if I find peace again when my time comes, just to be thrown back through this shit??
Fire code dictates that doors should swing outwards, but I’ve come across single stall gas station bathrooms that swing inwards.
Barricade them in, but be aware that they’ll probably start shooting through the door.
Just to put my 2 cents on the plate, it seems like a lot of people are stuck in living arrangements they don’t actually want to be in, purely for economic reasons. Lots of personality mismatch in close quarters, work is an escape. UBI would probably break apart lots of lives, but hopefully people will build back better.
In respect to being paid to work on hobbies, a lot of the tech sector was furloughed as well. FOSS projects massively improved, seemingly overnight. I’ve dabbled with Linux on and off during the 2010s, 2021 felt like the year where everything finally clicked together, now I run Linux and FOSS on everything where possible. I’m not sure how to find data to dispute or support that link tho, might just be me.
