Congratulations Suxing Liu, Landon Swartz and David Mendoza Cozatl
for making the cover story of The Plant Journal.

The combination of 3D printable imaging devices developed at the lab of David Mendoza Cozatl and novel color image analysis developed by Suxing Liu led to a deeper understanding how nutrient availability shapes plant phenotype over time. #phenotyping #plantscience #plants

Today I had a light predictive moment in the morning. I decided to wear brown pants on my 22h flight to Morocco in case I spill coffee. …. After 1.5 h I spilled coffee over my pants for the first time!

Congrats Landon Swartz, David Mendoza-Cozatl and Suxing Lou to get the Openleaf pipeline published.

The 3D printed imaging robot with custom made software is already already used a lot! https://doi.org/10.1111/tpj.16449

Another happy day on in the Sorghum field. Great collaboration with the Melandri lab at U of Arizona to harvest sorghum roots.

I am sad to miss #plantbio2023 for the first time in 10 yrs because it is in GA where I lived for over 10 yrs.

But here are the posters of our lab member Suxing Liu who did fantastic work on affordable 3D imaging of root architectures and Arabidopsis phenotyping.

Visit him at poster 500-6 and 500-021.

On my way to #NAPPN2023 ! Hope to see many familiar face there.

It's a strangely good feeling if a student continues along the lines you started your PhD almost 2 decades ago.

I am admiring how Jordan Knapp-Wilson and Dario Chavez bring terrestrial laser scanning into peach tree breeding.

Three-dimensional phenotyping of peach tree crown architecture utilizing terrestrial laser scanning

Tree training systems for temperate fruit have been developed throughout history by pomologists to improve light interception, fruit yield, and fruit quality. These training systems direct crown and branch growth to specific configurations. Quantifyin

I love the view from my new office at U of Arizonas School of Plant Sciences @uarizona
Looking over the herbarium straight to the mountains simply brings personal happiness and excitement about the next chapter of my career!
