I did an STI panel after every partner and was completely clean, but what I’ve heard (not sure if it’s true or not) is that if you get cold sores it’s basically indistinguishable from the ones downstairs and HSV is harder to test for than others. My doc could explain it better, no doubt.

Idk, the ol’ herp is an interesting retrovirus. But I think something like 6 in 10 people have one of the two forms. I really did try to do everything to make sure I was good to go before hopping in bed with someone else. Not that anyone is saying I didn’t, just wanted to make that known.

Pretty sure I contracted it from an ex who didn’t know she had it. I truly believe it’s more of a stigma than anything. Of course I’d rather not have it lol, but the last time it flaired was 4 years ago and I usually forget I even have it - doesn’t affect my life at all.
