It is pretty directly related to radon. The uranium is decaying to radon which then leaks out. I knew some guys who set off a security radiation detector because the balls they were bouncing off a granite wall at lunchtime sucked up enough radon to be detectable.
I’ve just noticed I don’t have much to say here lately. Sorry about that. Not much is getting through the “Is it true, is it kind, is it necessary?” gates. Resist where you can, help where you can.

@brianb You’ll get a good answer if you search for “free chemical drawing software”. My preference is ACD/ChemSketch which is free for many uses but it’s Windows only. For quick stuff the web-based NIH PubChem Sketcher will work anywhere.

You know how spelling bees are largely an english-speaking thing, and that countries whose languages are phonetically consistent don't really have them?
