The #1 story today is Biden in Ukraine. #2 is probably the release and deportation of 222 political prisoners in NICARAGUA. This sounds like a major victory for U.S. diplomacy.

The Rockville, Maryland ROTARY CLUB, with guests from the Gaithersburg club, helping Comfort Cases to load backpacks for kids going into foster care, locally and in other states and countries. This is WONDERFUL work.

This morning on National Public Radio: Excellent program on debates about censorship in FACEBOOK, focusing on FB's roles contributing to ethnic violence in Ethiopia. Total free speech is clearly not right, always, for everyone.

ROTARY International won the Princess float in the Tournament of ROSES parade. Its exhibit was wonderful. The Buho Marching Band from Xalapa, Mexico, was spectacular with dancers dressed as Monarch BUTTERFLIES. Many Rotary clubs are helping to save the Monarchs.

BRAZIL: A new year and a new (sort of) president. Lula's program will be good for the country and the world. He needs support from Brazilians and foreign countries.
