It’s a verb. Also walks, more km than miles.
Eric Ravilious understood these places. Not always gentle. I often think of the sheep in their fields in the darkness, in pouring rain and terrific winds.
Hello to top notch loading bays, also used by drivers to park illegally - but less hazardously and without damaging kerbs - and as auxiliary bus stop space, or just extra footway space. Useful and a good way of keeping shops serviced in a planned way. Thank you Brighton & Hove!
A walk with a purpose, a bit of street observation, a quick note to the council to ask them about guidance for outlets using street space - it’s great to see streets for more than movement, but there are things that should be avoided (left). Otherwise this (right). Street lost its scheme, retailers furious, through traffic limits how they can use the street, people don’t have as much obvious reason to stay in the street.
It is highly possible to take your own piece of action. Swapping your big car/SUV for car club membership and a family e-bike, stopping flying, reducing red meat and dairy a bit in your diet. At least two of those three are firmly in line with medical advice, anyway, and the car swap will do wonders for your neighbourhood. https://www.theguardian.com/environment/2023/nov/20/revealed-huge-climate-impact-of-the-middle-classes-carbon-divide
Revealed: the huge climate impact of the middle classes

Carbon emissions of richest 10% are up to 40 times bigger than poorest, and ignoring divide may make ending climate crisis impossible, experts say

Not often my bike looks petite.
Walking and cycling routes. Lovely. Though the bridge I’m on with a bike lane is obviously a vast tarmac boa constrictor - and it’s wobbling faintly!
The weather can just do one. I’m riding in a little while and nothing can spoil it!
Luckily, I have never been app dependent for the platform formerly known as Twitter. So moving here is not hard. Hello! I’ve been recovering from a busy week here and am ready to tie up loose ends tomorrow! Hurray, a bike ride in the rain!!!
