(Recorded from W272DW, translator of 1410 WSCW, using a GE SuperRadio II and a Victor Reader Stream 3. This isn't an issue with my recording equipment.)
This station is the single worst relayer of EAS alerts I've heard over-the-air, though a Hawaiian station is somehow even worse than this. Loquendo Dave is getting pulverized, and VoiceText Paul isn't any better.
LAE updates: more information is coming out .Apparently at around 9:30 AM EDT a violent chemical reaction occured at a plant in Institute, killing two, injuring over a dozen others, and releaseing hydrogen sulfide. The shelter-in-place order was lifted, but Route 35 remains closed and crews remain on-scene. These are all the Emergency Alerts from this insadent.
Another LAE... got it from my SDR stream and ERN/KNA, plus recorded from a bunch of stations with my phone.
Local Area Emergency got issued for my county earlier this morning due to a chemical spill. I was not impacted, I'm too far north in the county. Regardless, have some audio, and a fun bit of serendippity as well.
Out of bordom, I decided to see what it would have sounded like if "Friday I'm in Love" by The Cure were included as one of the 100 demo/learning songs on one of my childhood keyboards, a Casio LK series based on the A2 sound engine. This is far from perfect, playing was imperfect and quantization introduces some extra errors. Plus, there's a touch of reverb that I'm not sure why it's there, actual hardware can't do that, but blame VirtualMIDISynth.
Can old people in Arizona just like... not run away for a single day?
If Rufus fails to make a Windows To Go install on this drive one more fucking time I'll... well, I don't know what I'll do, but I'll do something, so help me God!
@mckensie I'm back on top, mwa ha ha ha! The Kenzie Spot: 3900 songs. ERN/KNA: 3903. It's a small lead, but its a lead again! I wasn't even trying to do that, but it just happened! tee hee!
For the inverse of this, Ween's "Ocean Man" from 1997 sped up the master, recorded the vocals, and then slowed it back down for a different sort of effect. (it's not known how much the speed difference was for this example, so I approximated.)
