You guys, I'm only 1 chapter in and I could just cry from her empathy and gentleness. Just being told I'm not a failure for not being able to keep a tidy house, and that I'm still a good person even when my sink is overflowing with dirty dishes ... it feels good. REALLY good.

@Nisha thankfully it was only $29 per person. We already pay out of pocket for fluoride since that is also only covered once a year, but my husband and I see it as a non-negotiable preventive. That one is $27 per person. I recognize that we are privileged to even have dental insurance and enough income to cover these expenses, I just wish we didn't have to.

Why do insurance companies hate paying for preventive care? I'm checking out at the dentist office and just finding out that x rays might only be covered once per year. Because why would we want to find out if our luxury bones are developing problems while it's small and easy to fix? Psshh, that's just silly! 🙄

@HippieScubaSteve we make a non-alcoholic wassail, basically keep a pot on the stove all winter long actually. It's great for when you come in out of the cold, or for when you're fighting a cold.

My husband prefers homemade eggnog, I'm good with the stuff from the store. Going to make cinnamon rolls tomorrow, probably also some orange rolls if I'm feeling ambitious.

I have emerged mostly unscathed, except when I was looking for a basic face moisturizer with sunscreen in it for 12. I could not for the life of me find anything basic, it was all age-defying, didn't have the SPF factor, or something else. I walked over to the men's shaving aisle in desperation, and found exactly what I needed in 2 seconds flat. Why can't "women's" skincare be as simple? Ugh. Regardless, my Christmas shopping should now be complete, and I am waiting in line to wash my car.

It is December 23, 3:30 mountain standard time. I am about to walk into my local Target in search of some last minute Christmas items. Wish me luck, I can only hope my mind and body are intact when I emerge.

@Allybobble ok, that flamingo is amazing! Where can I find a pattern for it? I have a flamingo obsessed friend I would love to make it for one day.
