I finished a new dipole, today. It's center fed with a full wave cut of 450 Ohm window line. I tuned it to resonance with a NanoVNA and I don't need a tuner to use it on 10 meter. I use a 1:1 balun attached to the back of my radio. I didn't have much luck with the Icom IC-705, but I was able to make west coast contacts with the QT-80 at half power USB.

I got a Radioddity QT-80 last Christmas. I've had it out a few times and yesterday, I unlocked it. It draws around 12 amps, while at peak power, which is very brief on SSB. I was wondering if anyone has tried one of those Super Capacitors on the power supply side to even out the current surge. Could I run it on a ten amp supply?
