This is the view from my apartment. I made a gif of a guy with three tiny people in the front of their long feits.

My grandmother, Lillian, was born in 1906. My mother was born in 1941. They took the portrait here when my mother was six probably. My grandmother, who we called Nana, died in 2011. My brother and I visited her several times at St Francis in Nov Hill as she was recovering from a collapse. She passed away a week later when my mother arranged for her to live at her house.

Years ago, my friend Ben had recently finished grad school and visited me in San Francisco. He took this picture of me drinking an Anchor Steam in my parents’ kitchen.
