I'm 53 and I've spent every New Year's Day with my parents. I used to complain that this family obligation limited my social prospects for New Year's Eve. But it probably kept me out of trouble!
So far, my kids have spent every New Year's Day with me and their grandparents.

My latest addition to my Boys With Long Hair series.

I started the portrait project years ago after I noticed how many people assumed my long-haired son was a girl. It was a daily occurrence. I thought, what a strong sense of identity and inner resolve for a child. So I started documenting other boys with long hair for a series.
