People still use "quantum physics" like it's unexplored territory that's basically magic.
Quantum physics is well over 100 years old at this point. Quantum physics-based devices are _not_ rare. You're using one right now.
- Photosensors and digital cameras use the photo-electric effect (one of the historical origins of quantum physics)
- LEDs? Quantum physics. Lasers too.
- Microchips? Heavily based on quantum physics.
- Flash memory? Literally written using quantum tunneling.
I don't typically post much but I felt the need to make this in the interest of the public good. I see folks confusing the two words often enough that it's a problem, I hope this helps.
