@christinelove Yep, barring some edge cases (joining with a raid, for example), non-subscribers will see an ad as they're joining an Affiliate's stream. It's an expected part of the experience for a lot of Twitch viewers now, but there's merit to avoiding Affiliate to keep them away; nobody's gonna miss seeing them, certainly.

There was a point about three years ago when mid-stream, stream-interrupting ads were mandatory for Affiliates, but everyone *hated* that, so they're optional now

@christinelove Yeah, it makes it so non-subscribers usually see ads when joining the stream, but you can turn off the auto-scheduled mid-stream ads pretty easily (it's an easy-to-find toggle switch in the Settings). Overall, Affiliate isn't for everyone and the revenue share is disappointing, but it's also not as bad as it may look
But hey, if I join the Premium Tier, at least the sweet Baby Lord Jesus will have a dedicated Patron place to rest his head in the barn

I hate Patreon pushing subscription billing so hard.

One of the big selling points for me when the service first launched was that I could make the monthly lump payment and have that distributed to the artists I like with the lowest possible transaction fees. A $1 pledge wouldn't get eaten down to a pittance. It felt more like a big community.

With subscriptions, each payment is separate. $3/month or it's not even worth it. There's no stacking benefit for the people I subscribe to. It sucks.

@adamthesak There are such better bad movies. I *guess* I understand seeing it once to understand how bad it is, but I don't get the appeal for repeat viewings

...In my opinion

Weirdly, holding the WR for the #CitizenSleeper any% speedrun isn't bringing the fame and fortune I anticipated
@christinelove Best to not even worry about any elements that may be in the background behind the postcard
@TechConnectify Unless you enjoy football in New York (technically New Jersey) and Los Angeles!
