@PhilaWritersCon A couple comic book reviews and a feature piece about introductory comics for people who like snow. A very comic centered weekend I guess.
@damonyoung that helped a lot. Thanks.
@Tourma That's lame. I guess I never noticed because Overdrive always pushed me to my local library's digital catalog and they had a browser based reader there.
@Tourma I've used Libby a few times and have mostly enjoyed it. They should have a dedicated PC reader though. I also dislike the name.
@JDV3422 I have a copy of Ulysses on my shelf, and I haven't had the guts to start it. But I'm with you, I think a lot of times it's that entertainment factor that gets lost. Like I can respect a book and appreciate it for what it is and what it's done. But sometimes, they're just not fun to read.
@steven_ovadia I had a similar experience with Kerouac as well. With Burroughs though I worked backwards having appreciated Pynchon and Calvino, but their works managed to have a bit more finish to them while Naked Lunch is just kind of raw.
@steven_ovadia it's like I see glimpses of something and I understand that reading post-modernist writing is often about experience. But there's just something about this that isn't clicking
@XanIndigo I can see that with wine since a lot of time the actual species of grape are different. I just didn't realize that was the case for coffee beans as well. Cool to learn about though.
@damonyoung I'm not a big sci-fi reader, with the (exception of The Left Hand of Darkness and Shikasta which i loved), but I've seen Hyperion a whole lot as being something great. How was it?
I'm not really a coffee snob, but as a whole I think I like coffees from African regions the most. Specifically a Burundi blend that Wonderstate Coffee puts out. Does the region really change flavor of coffee? #coffee
