What is it about people who seem to think that large amounts of negative reinforcement is the proper way to do anything? It didn't work for me as a child

Finding my drive to do something is actually pretty hard.

I am seriously frustrated with people who don't know how to communicate like reasonable people. If there is a problem, making sure the person who is causing a problem understands what is wrong and how to fix to avoid making future trouble, should be a priority. I don't think I am asking for too much of people in this day and age.
