Storm Bert causes Cambridge Chaos!
Just a half hour set from The Stereo MCs but note perfect and banging…always a good sign when the Loud Noise alert goes off on your watch during the first song :-)
I couldn’t not try it having found a local micro-brewery in Crete…not sure a 7% Porter is the best move at 3pm, and the 9% Double Stout or 10% DIPA afterwards is probably going to be a very silly idea :-)
Freedom!!!
Sometimes, having your garden constantly under attack from brambles is a good thing :-)
Double test just to be sure….it finally got me :-/ #covid

Leaving theWife behind and heading up to Liverpool(ish) to watch some of The Open Golf. Playing a couple of times while I’m up there too and the weather forecast looks somewhat unpredictable so I’m taking ALL THE THINGS!

It feels like I’m going away for a month! #golf

Almost 40 years of playing golf, and I finally got my first hole-in-one this morning...brought back to earth with a bump and a 7 later in the round, but that's golf for you :-D

I’m doing the Cancer Research UK July challenge to do 1000 press-ups. I can barely do one full press-up right now, so I’m starting on my knees. Any donations will be very gratefully received!

3 days in and I’m slightly ahead of schedule, but boy am I sore!

1000 press-ups! Never gonna happen?

It's a rather depressing fact of modern day life that thanks to the success of Stand-Up to Cancer the phrase "One in two of us will get Cancer in our lifetimes" is ingrained in my mind...and it's rather mind blowing if you stop and think about it. Beating Cancer both on an individual level, and in the sense of finding a cure is hugely tough, and while thankfully it's nothing like actually having Cancer, if I'm going to raise some money for this charity, I feel it should be something appropriately tough, for me. Right now, I can just about do 1 full press-up. I will be having to start this challenge on my knees. But one way or another, I will complete this ;-)

OK, I’m definitely calling this one a Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster. It’s a Dirty Vodka Martini, with 6 olives and a slice of Lemon, but using the juice from a Chilli Pickle instead of Olive juice. Thanks to a friend booking things waaaaay too early, I’m also getting up at 06.30 tomorrow. What could possibly go wrong!
