Common sandpiper ・イソシギ

I swear, bush warblers are the hardest common bird to photograph there is. The only bird I've had more trouble with is the kinglet, and they're relatively uncommon to boot.

Took another sake train trip out to the mountains and managed to see my first mandarin ducks.
Lots and lots of them, in fact!

Crested Kingfisher Crab Party!
I witnessed a crested kingfisher catch and eat a crab on the Shimata river yesterday. I think I've got this bird's schedule down, now.

I went out with a local birdwatching group to the only Hooded crane nesting ground on Honshu and the birds were really out! We're spotted eight of the thirteen cranes nesting there this season.
今季節、13羽のナベヅル山口県に渡ってる。今日は地元の探鳥会とともに8羽を見えた。
