Writing compilers, parallel runtime libraries for compilers and so on since 1979, but retired in 2019, so now only when I feel like it!

@boegel I know someone who ordered a beer in a Belgian bar, and was told that they couldn't serve him the one he'd asked for. As he could see the bottle he asked "Why not?" The answer was that all of the appropriate glasses for that beer were in use, and they couldn't serve it in the wrong glass...

@hpcchris @hpcnotes Indeed at the runtime level once compute takes no time it has to be I/O (which could be the internal, MPI like communication).

At a higher level, for real, non-benchmark, problems it'll be creating and verifying the code and the data it requires.
So back to humans (at least for now).
