@jkottke VT can be odd that way. I notice it more away from population centers, but it’s not uncommon to see one house flying a pride flag and then right next door they are flying one for TFG.

@Popehat Question: is “encompassed by” shitty drafting, or just a compromise to give each side appearance of winning? In civil transactional context, when I tried to be clear about a contentious point, clients would sometimes say “woah, don’t be that explicit, just tone it down (make it less clear) so that other side thinks they got what they want, and we can just take the position we want later in the now confused language if it ever comes up”. Hated that, but it happened lots.

@Popehat Giuliani being sued by former employee Noelle Dunphy, and her allegation that there are tapes. Is DC a 1 party consent jurisdiction? What if the alleged tapes don’t exist?
