Social media has a lot of ills, and also in the midst of that there are gems. Like actual experts in their fields of mental health, providing deeply beneficial wisdom quite freely in this 2024 CE. To think that this wasn't as available 20, 30, 40 or more years ago. Let alone how limited it's availability is at this moment in time. Perhaps there is hope for a more healed future.

It is difficult to structure time off when I made no plans for it, have anxiety, want to numb it with those binging kinds of activities, so easy to come by in our digital age—but I am trying. Ups and downs but I am managing to get to some general housekeeping tasks and even some deep dive reflection time. Overall, a reminder to myself for the gratitude I feel to have wintertime space to rest.

Have you ever concretely thought of a vision for yourself? Not a goal, or a series of steps, but something more amorphous, like the pursuit of beauty.

PSA: The concept of "alpha male" has no scientific validity. We all know this, right? The description in wolves has been soundly debunked ages ago, and yet the idea persists in pop culture. It's so weird to see it in contemporary media.

We're in such a strange new era where technology creates such unique social challenges for the way our brains were mostly shaped—over thousands of years without things like social media and the internet. I also think we lack the proper tools, approaches, etc. to deal with more than a fraction of the emotions stirred in us.
I don't meant to be bleak, more to mean: be gentle with yourself if you're struggling. It might be more than just the usual amount. But I do believe it is surmountable.
