I’m an amateur watercolorist, and I post many pictures. I advocate for a better planet and for human rights. I like new ideas and follow a variety of people. #watercolor #watercolour #aquarelle #art #painting #TraditionalArt #lineandwash #landscape #urbansketching #silentsunday #fensterfreitag #Newstodon
My favorite sky is made with quin gold, alizarin, and cobalt blue. In this picture, I painted the sky first then decided what land form to paint under it. Colors: ultramarine, cobalt, alizarin, quin gold, burnt sienna, green gold, sap green. Brushes:18, 2. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
Here’s another “doodle” I made following a simple geometric pattern. Colors: ultramarine, cobalt, green gold, sap green, vermilion, burnt sienna. Brushes: hake, 2, rigger. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
For this experimental watercolor, I followed a simple geometric pattern. While the grassy areas and foreground rocks were still wet, I scraped them using an old credit card.
Colors: ultramarine, cobalt teal, alizarin, spring green, raw sienna, and burnt sienna. Brushes: hake, credit card, pen. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
Today, I experimented and painted this picture of agave growing on the desert at sunrise. Colors: cobalt, alizarin, quin gold, burnt sienna, Paynes Grey. Brushes: wash, 6, rigger, plastic card. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
I stapled this piece to Gator Board and painted wet in wet, and then added details when dry. Colors: ultramarine, cobalt, cobalt teal, raw sienna, burnt sienna, green gold, and a touch of Alizarin. Brushes: wash, fan, rigger. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
I’ve heard that it’s good to repaint the same subject repeatedly, so I gave this scene another go. It is a large house, diminished in size by the mountains behind it. For this attempt, I mixed my desert greens with ultramarine, green gold, and raw sienna. Brushes: mop, 1/4” Princeton dagger.See ALT. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
I’m trying to learn to paint more precisely. For the detail on the house, I used a 1/4” Princeton dagger. I created the highlights on the roof by rubbing the paper lightly with a white birthday candle. I used dots of paint to create the texture in the foreground grass. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
I’m finding many good watercolor tutorials on Instagram. Today, I followed a tutorial by ivet.z.painting. Mountains and trees. Colors: ultramarine, alizarin, green gold, raw sienna, burnt sienna. Brushes: 6, rigger. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
I painted this simple farmhouse and field today, trying out a new set of brushes. Colors: ultramarine, cobalt teal, alizarin, azo, green gold, raw sienna, burnt sienna, a touch of vermilion. Brushes: 3/4” Black Velvet oval, 8, 1/4” Princeton dagger. I used the oval as my wash brush, the 8 for the distant hills and trees, and the dagger for everything else. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
Happy New Year! For this piece, I used only a 1” hake and ultramarine, green gold, raw sienna, and burnt sienna. To make the textured areas, I dipped my damp hake into pure paint then used the knife edge, or the corners, or used stippling. #watercolor #watercolour #art #MastoArt
