It’s that time again! EPIC is now accepting nominations for our International Privacy Champion award for 2023. This award is meant to recognize outstanding and influential work outside of the U.S. related to safeguarding and promoting privacy.
When considering groups and individuals to nominate, think broadly, including legal personnel, journalists, academics, activists, government workers, technologists, and more. Nominations can be submitted by emailing [email protected].
I genuinely don’t understand this argument. At all.

Regulation to mitigate harms does not need a “both sides.” The fact that the regulations have protections/restrictions and not outright bans IS the both sides.

Not trying to be a downer, but if you’re considering opening public comment on draft regulatory rules and decide to put out an entire updated version of those rules before the first comment period has even ended, throwing respondents’ working timelines and work they’ve done thus far into chaos and essentially shifting comments to a first-come, first-listened-to basis, maybe don’t do that.

I am sure I've asked this before, but does anyone know if there is a global list of open consultations on privacy regs? There has to be something better than my word doc with links to a couple of DPA websites that I check when I remember to.
My doc has links to open comments for the ICO, EDPB, European Commission, Canada, Australia, and the Philippines, but I don't see a ton of other stuff available in English (happy to share those links) - if anyone has more, please pass them over!
