6am visit with Smellanie the Titan Arum “corpse flower” in Adelaide Botanics this morning. Flowers for 48 hours once every 20 years or so and smells like rotting flesh to attract pollinators.

To the left are the immature plants that are a SINGLE LEAF. They die down to nothing then the tuber resprouts with the flower. This one grew from 30cm to over 2m in last fortnight.
