I had some "make up envy" looking at people changing their appearance by decorating, highlighting or hiding features. Then I realized I grew a bread for that exact same reason. No one wants to see this face, so it's better to hide it behind some camouflage of fur. :-)
Being a player who likes to deeply explore every inch of a game's world, every side mission, every game system and mechanics, every event and scenario... Baldur's Gate 3 is an absolute nightmare for me. It'll ruin me. And I love it.
Using "who" instead "whom" feels less bad than using "whom" instead of "who". Cannot quite explain why. Maybe the former looks like an honest mistake, whilst the latter somehow feels contrived?
“Four legs good, two legs bad.” - Snowball in Animal Farm by George Orwell.
“Four legs good, eight legs better.” - Every game designers before inevitably adding spider enemies in their fantasy RPG.
Because of some work scheduling changes my morning "commute" started half an hour earlier than usual. Even though it's just a small difference, it felt like walking through an entirely different town. Completely different people and activities. Expected, but still fascinating.
After some test runs I have now started my first proper play-through of Baldur's Gate 3. Considering how long I've already spent in the first area, I estimate the full game will take me about a thousand years to complete.
My laptop died. Turning it off and on again didn't help. I took the laptop apart but couldn't see any obvious hardware issues so I put it back together. And then it started working. So basically I did in fact had to turn it off and on again, but just really HARD...ware. :)
What a beautiful sentiment and perspective. Because just as representation matters, support from allies matters.

I don’t wear 🌈 items to tell you who’s in my bed. I wear 🏳️🌈🏳️⚧️ so the family across the street knows they are safe. So the couple in the restaurant know they aren’t alone. So the boy who sees me notice him looking at dresses knows I won’t judge. I wear pride bc you make them hide
X (formerly Twitter)Oh dear... I just commented on an image of a person in a forest that "AI still often generates with an edge of uncanny valley" but then I was told that's an actual photo but luckily they thought I was talking about the forest and not their relative standing there...
Help me settle something cause I need to explain British culture to an American mate! :-)
What does the word "local" mean in the UK?
A person living in a particular area? A nearby shop? A pub close by? A whole particular area?
