Guard rail debates for AI tools are going to be a free speech battle ground …

Who’d have thought child labour is returning to the US. A fairly startling description here …

Sweet dog story: a rescue dog in Texas went missing from her new home. Her family contacted the shelter, and lots of socials plus posters put up to ask for help of neighbours finding her. The dog though had other ideas. She made her own way to the animal shelter (10 miles away) and rang the video doorbell herself at 1am. She’s now back with her new family again.

As a Brit seeing US gun attrocities unfold in the news I’ve got less and less interested over the years, since no-one in the US will actually do anything.
One of the political newsletters I get opened this morning with this summary of the US weekend's mass shootings. 3 of them. But thats only the ‘mass’ ones, not the more routine, of which nodubt there were many more deaths and injuries, either random or more targeted. Until people *actually* do something, have to conclude this is accepted.

A look into options Russia has for a Spring offensive.
A reminder too of why studying past battles can be useful, and sometimes little is new - as Russia found against the German occupiers of Luhansk and Donetsk in 1943

It might be cold at the mo, but it’s not snowy. Durham, my uni city, is even more beautiful in the snow than normal. Some decades old photos.
I dont do selfies very often. This was about my first, ever. When it was a film camera.
