Canticle is a dragon egg. When Nomad is thinking about the mountain the shape he describes for the planet is an egg. The entire planet is also an evenly rotating massive investiture sink. I can easily seeing that being a major part of the development of a dragon, both heating and sustaining the embryo. The hostility of the planet is also likely in part a defense mechanism.

With the level of 3D in the game it’s truly an accomplishment that they got it to work so well. If I was “on” at the time it came out I feel like I would have been totally mind blown.
