My brain occasionally writes Limericks for no reason.
There once was an Elon from Pretoria,
Whose presence brought about general dysphoria.
He tanked the bird site,
With his fans on the right,
And an ego the size of Lake Victoria.
🤷🤦
I've been opening the Twitter app about once a day. One thing I've noticed since Muskageddon is that I've been getting SO many more spam message requests. The bit situation seems to be way worse than before he took over and that was one of the main things he said he'd fix.
I've also been unable to download my data. There are still some accounts there I'd really miss if I left completely so I'm still figuring that one out. Made some good friends there. Actual friends that I met in person.
Screw Musk for ruining that. I had a similar feeling when I left Facebook but at least I kept the messenger and people could still contact me. Leaving Twitter means there are some people ill never interact with again.
I've removed the Twitter app from my home screen and replaced it with Tusky.
That doesn't mean I'm off Twitter entirely yet, but it's a first step.
I did the same thing with Facebook. I replaced it on my home screen with Twitter and then used it less and less until I deleted the app. Then I only used it in a browser once a month or so. Then after six months of not using it at all, I deleted my account.
I expect Twitter to be the same.
Let’s be clear about this. The CEO of Twitter can attack his employee’s work publicly all day every day.
But when one responds factually and calmly, they get fired. https://twitter.com/elonmusk/status/1592186302379982849

I think I've mostly got my head around Mastodon. I mostly like it. I've even figured out how to send DMs if I really wanted to.
My only problem is that I've gone from following 1000 accounts, mostly South Australian/Kaurna country based, to less than 100 accounts. The feed updates slowly. I need to find more!
The Labor party keeps giving me more and more reasons not to support them. Now they've announced they're bringing the LIV golf tournament here despite the ties to Saudi Arabia and their atrocious human rights record that Australia was at the forefront of criticising just a few years ago. But if it brings money into the state then we're happy to sportswash their record for them. Doesn't matter where the money comes from.
I think I've voted for a Labor candidate for the last time.
Interesting to see all the Twit posts about how evil Dom is for letting covid spread around NSW while the same people praise all the Labor premiers without even a shred of irony.
Our own premier is fairly aligned with Dom. They just happen to be in different parties. That seems to be enough when you're in a cult.
