I'm sure I've posted this elsewhere but I think it's cool that the background in the Esaka stage in The King of Fighters '94 is so close to Akira that it's almost a screen capture, but there's no spotlights like in the movie, so a LOT of work was done to copy this. #KOF #KingOfFighters #FGC #PixelArt

SNK also took heavy inspiration from Akira for some of their early NEOGEO shooter Last Resort also. But like with The King of Fighters they still put their own spin on the final product's feel.
