Eldest is now moved in to her new apartment. She did a three day drive to get there, all on her own. Middle is still receiving responses from PhD programs. Youngest (taking after his mother) broke his ankle in an entirely ridiculous way, and just before his 19th birthday.
Eldest kiddo is relocating for her new job in just under a month, and middle kiddo just got his first acceptance to a PhD program. Not to be outdone by his oldest sister’s 1,000 mile move, this program is 2,600 miles away. Fingers crossed for another great program a little closer…
Eldest got the job! While this is great for her career, she’ll be moving almost a thousand miles away. And now I’m trying to figure out how she can get snow tires on her car midway through her drive there, while her car is fully loaded with her belongings. The logistics are not logicing so well…
Eldest volunteered to go in on her day off and stay on broadcast for the duration of the ice storm. As much as I will hate being out of contact if/when power and internet and cell go out, at least I know she’s on site with huge generators and is in-grid with emergency services.
Wish us luck. Hoping a tree doesn’t come into the house.
Tracking my eldest’s plane as it flies up the east coast. She’s off for her interview with *the* name in her field. I think I’m more nervous than she!
I’m officially the boring one in this house as I’ve seen my husband on TV most nights this week and earlier he sent a selfie with Johnny Weir. So I’ll just be in the corner finishing setting up my classes and doing exciting stuff like loading the dishwasher, because I know how to have one hell of a Saturday night.
Eldest is on the third interview for her dream job. They are going to fly her to HQ for it. If she gets it, she’s moving up north. Middle is applying to PhD programs. All are up north. So, just stuck in this state until youngest graduates from college now. Love to live in a Great Lakes state again…
Rooting for the Bills today. Don’t let me down, gentlemen! 🦬
A question from my kids unlocked a deep memory tonight, and a moment’s research confirmed that yes, I did see Public Enemy play live in July of 1991. So, that was cool.
Porch panda says, “Thanks for the bird feeder, lady!”
