Our moderation team is quite small and there are no proper automations or techniques (that we know) to keep the number of spam accounts low.

You can generate invitation links in the settings menu (directlink: https://osna.social/invites )

Dear all, we just updated the instance to the latest update released today. Moreover, we discussed inside the moderation team how to handle the huge number of spam users registering to our instance. Our decision is that we close the registration and change it to invite only. People who need an account can be invited by users that are already on the instance, or get in touch with the Chaostreff Osnabrück to get an invitation. We've placed the same hint on the registration page.
